Educational and cultural exchanges between Norman and Odawara City

In July 2001, educators from the city of Norman, Oklahoma, visited Odawara city, where they discussed school and education matters with the mayor and members of the Odawara board of education, and toured a local primary school.
The visit was part of a teacher exchange program launched in 1994 in Norman, where Hitachi has a computer storage system subsidiary.
Every summer, teachers from Norman come to Odawara, and each fall, teachers from Odawara visit Norman.
In both Norman and Odawara, the program has won high praise for advancing cultural interchanges between Japan and America.
