Philosophy |
| The Hitachi Group laid out its philosophy reflecting the need to contribute to the building of a better society and enrich the quality of life. This is in response to both social needs and expectations for activities that contribute to society, while also reflecting our corporate slogan - "Inspire the Next" - which signifies the breathing of life into the coming age. We implement such social contributions positively under this philosophy. |

Policy |
| This indicates the direction of our unique social contribution activities as our policy. |
Education, environment and social welfare
We have designated education, the environment and social welfare as priority activity areas for which Hitachi can implement unique activities by effectively using its diverse resources while utilizing the major actions that have been carried out thus far.
Knowledge and information technology
Knowledge and information technology reflect the core strengths of the Hitachi Group. We would like to use our accumulated resources fully and effectively in our social contributions as well.
Fostering "the leader" who inspires the next generation
Hitachi's own corporate culture places a high priority on carefully developing individual potential. By recognizing the importance of this to build a better society, we have determined that fostering "leadership" to share in the future is the fundamental basis of the Hitachi Group's social contributions.
