HITACHI : Hitachi Volunteer Support Program

Hitachi, Ltd. started the Hitachi Volunteer Support Program as a philanthropic instrument for volunteer support to inspire Hitachi Group's employees to volunteer as well as to support Japanese non-profit organizations that carry out socially important activities.

This program provides funding to support specific activities of Japanese non-profit organizations that Hitachi Group's employees either participate in or financially support, and that are also making an ongoing commitment to highly public, socially important work. An in-house selection committee makes a fair screening after receiving proposals from employees engaged in volunteering, after which aid is provided to a limited number of projects every six months up to a limit of ¥300,000 per organization. Organizations that have received aid and employees who have recommended those organizations will provide periodic updates of their activities within the specific time period, the content of which will be widely dispersed to employees throughout the Company.
