Hitachi Supplied and Installed 40 Sets of Lift
in the Venetian®* Macao-Resort-Hotel,
the Asia's Biggest Commercial Complex |

TOKYO, Japan, 28 August 2007 --- Hitachi Ltd. (NYSE: HIT / TSE: 6501)' s subsidiary company for the sales, installation, maintenance and modernization of lifts and escalators in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of People's Republic of China, Hitachi Elevator Engineering Company (Hong Kong) Limited ("HEE") supplied and installed 40 sets of lift in Macao Special Administrative Region of People's Republic of China for the Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel which is one of the biggest commercial complexes in Asia, which will celebrate its grand opening on August 28, 2007.
The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel, located on Cotai, emerging development area in Macau, is one of the biggest commercial complexes in Asia which includes 3,000 all suite integrated resort with the world's largest casino, more than 3 million square feet of world-class retail space, convention and exhibition facilities, theatre and entertainment area.
Hitachi established HEE in 1966, opened HEE Macau Branch Office in 1980 and has been expanding its lift and escalator business in Hong Kong and Macau. HEE is proud that it could honorably receive this order to have been evaluated its long service which has put the priority on "greater safety" and "better quality" in Hong Kong and Macau.
In lift and escalator business, Hitachi has been focusing on the main Asian regions such as China, Southeast Asia & Middle East and Japan and reinforcing the operations to seek No.1 supplier in those areas in 2010.
