Hitachi Announces the Year-end Dividend

Tokyo, Japan, March 14, 2001 - Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501) today announced that the year-end dividend for fiscal 2000, listed below, will be referred to the General Meeting of Shareholders to be convened in June.
