Tokyo, Japan, September 4, 2002 -- Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501) today announced that the following appointment was approved at a meeting of the company's board of directors held on September 4, 2002.
Yoshiro Kuwata, Executive Vice President and Director (Representative Director) of Hitachi, Ltd. and Chairman of the Board of Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation, a listed subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., has been appointed to serve concurrently as President (Representative Director) of Hitachi High-Technologies, effective today. Noriaki Higuchi has stepped down as President (Representative Director) of Hitachi High-Technologies, citing health reasons.
Mr. Kuwata will continue to serve as Executive Vice President and Director (Representative Director) of Hitachi, Ltd.
