New-generation Elevator "HF-1" receives "iF DESIGN AWARD 2017"

Tokyo, Japan, March 3, 2017 --- Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE:6501, "Hitachi") and Hitachi Building Systems Co., Ltd. ("Hitachi Building Systems") today announced that their new-generation elevator "HF-1" developed in 2015 recieved "iF DESIGN AWARD 2017."

"iF DESIGN AWARD" is one of the internationally prestigious design awards, organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH Hannover, Germany. The award has a history of over a half century since its introduction in 1953 for industrial products with excellent design. Applications for the award from all over the world are comprehensively examined in originality, innovativeness, quality, functionality such as usability, and environmental friendliness. In "iF DESIGN AWARD 2017", "HF-1" was highly valued among over 5,500 entries from 59 countries by globally renowned juries.

"HF-1" is the elevator which embodies the basic concept for Hitachi's elevator / escalator products and services, "HUMAN FRIENDLY for Hitachi Elevators/Escalators." The elevator ensures smooth, safe and comfortable transportation which people unconsciously expect when they move."HF-1" produces quality of comfort and relief for users by supplying overall roundness design, vertically-long LCD indicator with high visibility, and color adjusting function which matches color of ceiling lights with time and brightness of daylights. Hitachi and Hitachi Building Systems collaboratively developed "HF-1".
