Tokyo, May 15, 2019 --- Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd. will outline its vision for safer, more comfortable and more sustainable driving at Automotive Engineering Exposition 2019 Yokohama from May 22 to 24.

At the event, Hitachi Automotive Systems will showcase a wide array of next-generation automotive technologies, products, and systems with a particular focus on electrification and autonomous driving technologies that will improve quality of life, eliminate accidents and minimize environmental impact.

Hitachi Automotive Systems exhibition will be at Booth #57 of the expo, which is being held at Pacifico Yokohama, and is organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, Inc.

Hitachi Automotive Systems has developed products that improve electric vehicle driving performance that will be on display, such as Electric Powertrain Systems, incorporating an efficient, low-vibration motor and a high-output, high-efficiency inverter outfitted with a new power module. Additionally, the company will introduce an Autonomous Driving System that integrates the data from peripheral sensing technologies such as cameras and radar with safety control technologies such as vehicle control units and chassis components to improve safety.

Technologies that will be on display also include a high-efficiency engine combustion control system optimized for use in Hybrid-Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) that features a variable compression ratio control system that achieves higher compression ratios for improved anti-knock performance while driving. In addition, an electric Valve Timing Control (VTC) system that helps lower Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) during engine restart will also be displayed.

As a demonstration use-case for an autonomous driving system, the booth will present video footage of on-board stereo camera technology that is capable of precisely detecting detailed road surface shapes to make driving safer and more comfortable.
