Aim of Guidelines

The aim of these guidelines is to show the types of J-Moss Green Mark labeling that is required for electrical and electronic products containing specific chemical substances. This is mandatory under the Law for Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources and covers labeling that is not required to meet the JIS C 0950 standard, 'The marking for presence of the specific chemical substances for electrical and electronic equipment.'

Summary of Guidelines

For specific chemical substances below the amount covered in the JIS C 0950 standard (except for items not required to be marked), the main body, packaging, and catalogs (printed material, catalogs in the form of electronic data, user manuals, etc.) for the following equipment may be voluntarily labeled with the J-Moss Green Mark.

Equipment Personal computers, unit air conditioners, TV receivers, electrical refrigerators, electrical washing machines, microwave ovens, and clothes dryers
Specific chemical substances Lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).
