Miyazaki Prefecture has suddenly become well known due to the accession of its new governor, Hideo Higashikokubaru. Headquartered in Kunitomicho and founded in April 1999, Hitachi Plasma Display Limited lies on the outskirts of the capital, Miyazaki City. The company is located on a picturesque hill surrounded by the natural environment with seasonal changes and beautiful scenery. It is this locale where cutting edge plasma displays (PDPs) boasting of the highest quality in the industry are supplied to various sites in the country.

He loves cars, in fact his beloved car is an environmentally friendly hybrid car. This car, however, is not so friendly to household economy, according to Mr. Taniguchi. He is so proud of PDPs manufactured here so much so, that he bought one at a mass merchandise outlet at the cost of staff discount.
