Environmental Activities

Hitachi

With action on environmental problems becoming increasingly important, the Hitachi Group announced its “Environment Vision 2025” to the World in December 2007. Wearing the Eco Badge is a firm statement of resolve. Four hundred thousand Hitachi Group employees, working inside and outside Japan, are united in wearing the badge on their chests as they pursue environmental activities.

The Eco Badge on our chests

Badges and stickers are worn on chests and name plates.

What we can do, and what we can do because of who we are. We think about environmental problems, starting from things close to us, for the sake of the Earth.

There are many things the Hitachi Group can do towards solutions for global environmental problems, as we develop our operations around the world. In our Environment Vision 2025, which aims to conserve the global environment and build a sustainable society, we set the goal of using our range of experience and technologies to help curb CO2 emissions by 100 million tons a year by 2025.
Now, 400,000 Hitachi Group people wear their determination on their chests as they work to realize the Environment Vision 2025 that we have announced to the world.

What we mean when we wear the Eco Badge

The Eco Badge

We will go on diligently working to do what we can do, and what we can do because of who we are, for the Earth. That effort is driven by the high motivation and energy of each one of our employees. It starts with putting on the Eco Badge. This badge, adorned with the monkey pod tree that is the symbol of the Hitachi Group, embodies our resolve.
