Details of how to access the Moanalua Gardens from Waikiki as follows:
(1) To take the freeway "H1" from Waikiki, go west on the Ala Wai Blvd. along the Ala Wai Canal in the north part of Waikiki. Then take the far right lane and turn right at the sign for the "H1 Freeway Airport."
Note: The Ala Wai Blvd. is a one-way westward route.
(2) Turn right at the intersection to McCully St.
(3) Go straight along McCully St. for about 5 minutes and cross the first elevated bridge.
(4) Turn left at the "H1" sign on the first corner after the elevated bridge.
(5) Go straight for a while and turn left at the first intersection.
Note: This intersection is called a 4-WAY STOP, at which cars coming from any direction must stop, and start again in the order of arrival. So, be sure to stop when reaching this intersection.
(6) After turning left, you will see a freeway across the street in front. Then, turn right at the end of the street and take the freeway "H1."
(7) After taking the freeway, go west and exit the freeway from "EXIT 3."
After driving for a while, you will see this "EXIT 20" sign in front. However, continue driving on the lane to the "H1" Airport and go straight on.
(1) You are now on the "H1", and if the sign indicating "H201 Freeway Fort Shafter Aiea" appears, keep driving on the lane for "H201". Although there will soon be a turnoff for the airport from the "H1", continue driving in the lane for "H201" to get to Moanalua Gardens.
(2) A sign for "EXIT 19B" will appear, but do not change lanes. The "EXIT 3", which is the exit for Moanalua Gardens, is the second after "EXIT 19B." Keep driving in the third lane from the left.
(3) After passing the turnoff for the airport, the sign indicating "EXIT 4" will appear at a gentle right-hand curve. The next sign is "EXIT 3" for Moanalua Gardens.
(4) Keep driving on the lane with the sign for "7310" Puuloa Rd. at the "EXIT 4" turnoff. Since the sign changes from "H201" to "7310" from here, keep driving along the lane with the sign indicating "7310."
(1) Keep driving on the right lane, as the sign of "EXIT 3" Puuloa Rd: Triper Hosp. will soon come into view.
(2) The sign indicating "7310" Puuloa Rd: Triper Hosp. and "EXIT 3" is at a gentle right-hand curve.
(3) The sign indicating "EXIT 3" reappears. The Moanalua Gardens are on the right-hand side of this sign.
(4) The entrance to Moanalua Gardens will soon come into view. It's about 50 meters to the entrance. Slow down the car.
(5) Turn right at the sign for Moanalua Gardens.
(6) You now arrive at Moanalua Gardens!
