Gigabit PON System AMN1220E Family : OLT

Overview

The AMN1220E OLT is an environmentally-friendly, RoHS-compliant system, and is designed to mount in a 19-inch rack, serving up to 1,536 ONTs per OLT unit. At a telephone company's central office or a cable TV provider's head-end location, the OLT connects to a switch, router or content server through GbE interfaces. With the AMN1220E system, service providers can cost-effectively offer to different markets a wide range of high-bandwidth services, from POTS to Ethernet-only to triple play to IP services, all from the same platform.

Benefits

Compliant with the ITU-T G.984 Standards

  • Compliant with ITU-T G.984, including G-PON Encapsulation Mode (GEM)
  • Maximum flexibility in implementing FTTP solutions as applications and services

Excellent subscriber capacity in a compact form

  • Accommodating up to 24 PON interfaces per OLT shelf
  • Serving up to 1,536 ONTs per OLT shelf

Triple play with configurable bandwidth priority

  • Enables support of legacy/IP triple play services -voice, data, and video- transported over the common fibre infrastructure.

Economical PON architecture

  • Supports multiple users on a single fibre
  • Spans 20 km distances with passive network.
  • Saves both capital expense (CAPEX) and operational expense (OPEX) due to passive outside plant portion of PON.
  • Controls shared bandwidth to allow maximum revenue per subscriber, based on services delivered.

Upstream DBA with SLAs and QoS commitments

  • Supports full bandwidth utilization by allowing the PON to allocate additional bandwidth (up to 1 Gbit/s of data traffic per ONT) on an as-needed basis to accommodate bursty data traffic while maintaining uninterrupted voice and video services.
  • Allows carriers to provide SLAs with QoS commitments for defining levels of service in direct proportion to the revenue those services generate.

Network - Element management system (N-EMS)

  • Configures and manages networks flexibility for maximum usage and revenue.
  • Provides multiple views of the network, the facility, and individual equipment.
  • Supports provisioning of network elements as follows:
    • Enables or disables voice, data, and/or video service for each user.
    • Determines bandwidth allocations for each ONT.
