Through research, development, evaluation and demonstration, Hitachi is involved in technical areas realizing Cognitive Wireless, software-defined radio, gigabit-class wireless networks, and combined fixed and mobile IMS/MMD communications. We also intend to offer future-technology solutions to promptly, precisely, and reliably fulfill user and operator needs.
Cognitive Wireless aims to achieve effective use of radio wave resources. More specifically, it intends to ensure continued communications through optimum network handover while selecting the best available radio wave. The ultimate form of Cognitive Wireless would entail a transition of base station radio frequency and modulation method to achieve optimum wireless communications. Hitachi is committed to being conductive to development of Cognitive Wireless through evaluation and demonstration.
At an early stage Hitachi began research and development on IMS/MMD VoIP technology, which is the core of Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) and is used for applying IP technology to the integration of mobile wireless voice and data communications as well as wired fixed voice and data communications. We have exhibited demonstration system at CTIA Wireless and PT/EXPO Comm. Hitachi directs its continued efforts toward offering users the convenience of an integrated seamless communication environment.
