Hitachi

Overview

Modern IP-based network services, broadband services, and a significant increase in mobile traffic require an optical transport system that supports the network backbone and that, in addition to transmitting data over conventional telephone lines and leased lines, has the capability to transmit high-volume IP traffic efficiently. Furthermore, for the network operators who manage optical transport, the user-friendliness of an optical transport system has become a vital issue. Add to this a requirement for efficient transmission at business user facilities, utilities, and municipalities.

Hitachi provides a variety of optical transport systems for all areas of core, metro, and access networks. For core and metro networks, Hitachi offers a lineup of small wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems that emphasize usability in metropolitan areas. By providing the client side with a 10-Gbps class ultra-high-speed interface that hitherto has been used only in core networks and by employing ITU-T compliant CWDM technology on the relay network side, ultra-high-speed signals can be transmitted economically using WDM without optical amplifiers. Furthermore, the Hitachi optical transport system can be migrated to a DWDM system, enabling a flexible response to the rapid spread of broadband in access areas including mobile backhauls.

Focused on adaptability and high reliability, Hitachi provides optical transport solutions that most effectively match the characteristics of networks.
