The Hitachi AMN6200, a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system for metro networks and enterprise networks, enables wavelength multiplexed bidirectional transmission and long-haul transmission over a single optical fiber. The AMN6200 enables a flexible, scalable, and cost-effective network to be built.
The AMN6200 consists of a standalone local unit in addition to a shelf-mounted center unit. The local unit, a major feature of the AMN6200 system, has a single client interface, and multiplexes two wavelengths in a single optical fiber for bidirectional transmission. When local units are combined with center units, an optimal network that meets a wide range of needs can be flexibly designed.
Since the center unit of the AMN6200 system accommodates both coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) and dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) products on the same shelf, the unit employs an advanced, scalable architecture that allows the number of wavelength multiplexed channels to be increased in response to demand.
