The greatest need of most service providers is to reduce initial costs as much as possible. Hitachi provides flexible solutions applicable to a variety of service provider backbones, allowing service providers to save on initial investment cost.
The AMN6200 system can accommodate both DWDM and coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) products in the same shelf. The AMN6200 can support a variety of interfaces with speeds from 1.5 Mbit/s to 10 Gbit/s. A network containing ring configuration and linear bus configuration can be configured if a service provider wishes to do this. A ring configuration containing the communications center unit and remote center units in the metro core network, and a linear bus configuration containing the communications center unit and local units in the access network.
With an AMN6200 system, long-distance and large-volume transmission becomes possible for metro core networks in a ring network configuration that uses DWDM. Furthermore, the AMN6200 system lowers costs by using single-core bidirectional fibers and improves reliability with a redundant ring configuration. The use of a linear bus configuration in the access network means that central offices located along the fiber route can be accommodated in a single fiber core, reducing the total fiber cost. In addition, local units can accommodate equipment with different communication specifications, including Ethernet, SDH/SONET, and ATM, in the same fiber, lowering initial cost.
