The AMN1710 delivers a maximum switching capacity of 120 Gbit/s, and supports line concentrations of GbE x 40 lines or ATM x 32 lines.
Despite its compactness, the AMN1710 offers redundant interface sections, control sections and fan/power modules.
MPLS-TP multiplexes an Ethernet (Ethernet leased line, Transparent LAN Service, etc.), IPTV, mobile backhaul and ATM leased lines of communication services into a single transport network, significantly helping to reduce OPEX and CAPEX*.
* OPEX/CAPEX: Operating expenditure/capital expenditure
Since the control plane is separated from the data plane, even if a problem occurs in the control plane, the problem does not affect the network service. A highly scalable transport system independent of the control plane can be created.
The AMN1710 implements sophisticated OAM, such as Connectivity Verification (CV), LoopBack (LB) and Automatic Protection Switching (APS), by supporting MPLS-TP OAM and 1:1 LSP Protection. The AMN1710 also supports Ethernet OAM to improve the reliability of Ethernet sections.
Required communication quality - whether large-volume transfer at low cost, low-delay guarantee, or committed bandwidth guarantee, as with corporate leased lines - differs from one communication service to another. The traffic control feature of the AMN1710 assures communication quality for each service integrated into a single transport platform.
The AMN1710 supports different network topologies: point-to-point, as in leased lines, point-to-multipoint, as in broadband access, and multipoint-to-multipoint, as in Transparent LAN Service.
