Explaining our Finger Vein Solution
"Growth, Risk Management and Innovation for FSI through IT" was the theme for this year's Bank Tech Summit. "Growth - the main focus of financial institutions of all sizes again" was the gist of the event.
We have seen in recent years, the financial industry undergoing so much turmoil that resulted in retrenchments and losses all around that affected the other industries as well. We are glad that those dark days are over and we are starting to see the light. The new buzzword in the financial industry seems to be this particular one - Growth.
It is great that we are talking about growth and with any type of growth; we need to consider the risks involved and how to manage them. With the advancement of technology, IT Executives and Decision Makers need to be aware of the factors that are driving this growth and what can be done to tackle these risks. This is exactly what this event seeks to achieve.

Networking with delegates
There were about 150 delegates who turned up for this event. Some were C-levels, IT Directors and Finance Managers. Majority of the delegates were from the finance industry. This event took place at the Singapore Marriott Hotel.
This event also saw the continuation of collaboration between Hitachi Asia Ltd (HAS) and our sister company, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS). Coming together was a good experience for us as we presented to the delegates an entire range of security solutions. We started off with our Finger Vein Authentication System where delegates were allowed to test and 'play' with an installed unit. This proved to be a useful 'door opener' as we were able to present to the delegates a whole range of solutions on display. These solutions included JP1's Automatic Job Scheduler and HDS' Storage System.
In order to draw the crowd towards our booth, we made use of a simple mechanism known as the "Wheel of Fortune" where we encouraged the delegates to fill in a simple evaluation form, following which, they take a spin at the "Wheel of Fortune" and they stand to win some prizes. Some of our prizes included calendars and Red Packets.
