The annual IDC CIO Summit 2011 in Thailand was held on 7 July 2011 at Conrad Hotel, Bangkok. This was a C-level event which was attended by over 70 executives heralding the top management.

This year's theme focused on Driving the CIO Agenda for Business Success. The highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by Mr Tim Dillon, IDC Asia Pacific's Associate Vice President, End User Mobility and Research, where he shared with us the exciting findings on Technology, Innovation and Future Priorities. In this year's presentation, Tim provided a fresh look to IDC's CIO Innovations Survey In addition to showcasing CIO priorities, he also shared a country-by-country view of technology investment plans and provided an overview of how much money we spend on our IT and is it too much. Areas examined included does IT bring Innovation to the business, how can we measure the effectiveness of innovation and what matters more to CIOs - the expenses, the profit or the customers?

Next in line was Hitachi Asia's presentation by Mr Hideyuki Takahashi on Hitachi's approach toward Three-Layered Management for Cloud Systems. Takahashi-san had opened his speech with Japan's Earthquake Disaster. Drawing from this experience in relation to our ICT Solutions Business, he provided a notable presentation of how the management of nuclear plants and Cloud Computing can be related.

The event came to a close with an invigorating Panel Discussion with Tim as the moderator and with Takahashi-san as one of the panelists. The delegates were enthusiastically throwing questions at the panelists and it was indeed a very rewarding session for both the delegates and sponsors.
