The annual IDC CIO Summit 2011 in Singapore was a two-day event held from 14-15 July 2011 at Shangri-la Hotel Singapore. This was a very successful event saw a turnout of over 180 C-level executives, IT managers and decision makers.

The theme for this year's Singapore summit was "Winning Strategies of Empowered CIOs in Asia Pacific", a little different from the themes for Thailand and Malaysia. As Singapore one of the regional headquarters for many organizations, in his keynote address, Mr Tim Dillon, IDC Asia Pacific's Associate Vice President, End User Mobility and Research, shared on Technology, Innovation and Future Priorities in APAC. Drawing statistics from multiple IDC Worldwide studies, Tim shared on the findings gathered from IDC's CIO Innovations Survey. In addition to showcasing CIO priorities, he also touched on the up and coming topics including Social Media Business and Mobile Applications for Business.

Next in line was Hitachi's presentation by Mr Tetsuya Nakamura, Vice President of ICT Solutions Business Group Hitachi Asia Ltd., on Intelligent Solutions for Cloud Management and Business Analytics. Nakamura san presented on several topics including the key considerations & tenets for Cloud Computing and shared a true case study on Agile Business Analytics in the Cloud. He concluded with the key takeaways of the session on Hitachi's Approach for Cloud Computing - need for an effective and efficient management of the Cloud infrastructure, and need for business & BI applications to enable business.

The event hosted 2 panel discussions and Hitachi participated in the first one, which was a stimulating session opened to the floor of over 150 attendees.
