The annual IDC CIO Summit 2011 in Malaysia was held on 14 July 2011 at The Gardens Hotel & Residences, Kuala Lumpur. This was a cozy event which was attended by over 40 C-level executives and IT decision makers.

This theme for this year centered on Driving the CIO Agenda for Business Success. The highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by Mr Tim Dillon, IDC Asia Pacific's Associate Vice President, End User Mobility and Research, where he shar on Technology, Innovation and Future Priorities. Drawing statistics from multiple IDC Worldwide studies, Tim shared on the findings gathered from IDC's CIO Innovations Survey. In addition to showcasing CIO priorities, he also shared a country-by-country view of technology investment plans and provided an overview of how much money we spend on our IT and is it too much.

Next in line was Hitachi's presentation by Mr James Leong, County Manager of ICT Solutions Business Group Hitachi Asia (Malaysia), on Intelligent Solutions for Cloud Management and Business Analytics. Some of the topics discussed include how can we dynamically monitor and better manage performance in a Cloud environment to meet IT and Business needs and how can we enhance Business Performance via smarter Business Analytics solutions in the Cloud.

The event concluded with a panel discussion opened to the floor with a Q & A session. At the Hitachi booth, engaging conversations continued on where our consultants discussed popular IT topics including Smart IT and Green IT with the delegates.
