The Hitachi Mechanical Engineering Research Laboratory (HMERL) is the hub for mechanical technology development in the Hitachi Group. We are actively researching and developing a wide range of products that contribute to the daily lives of people and to the operations of industry. They include information equipment, electrical home appliances, automotive devices, elevators and escalators, rapid-transit rail cars, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, and power-plant equipment.
We are also taking on the challenge of developing the technologies needed to meet the expectations for the next generation. For example, we are developing robotics technologies, ultra-precision processing and positioning technologies, MEMS (micro electro mechanical systems) technologies, cutting-edge fluid, vibroacoustic, and molecular dynamics simulation technologies.
