The name for the plan to computerize airports, which has been driven by the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry since 2002 as part of the "e-Japan 2002" project. Many related experiments are underway, including electronic ticket check-in, passenger identity verification using biometrics, air-cargo handling using e-tags, and the provision of internet connection environments in airports, integrated information services using mobile terminals and integrated traffic and flight information.
