Explanation

Lifelog means the act to record human behavior and daily lives, etc. over a long time as digital data (lifelogging), or the recorded digital data itself. With the popularization of mobile phones and smartphones that have GPS and camera functions, the act to obtain lifelog has become widespread among the public. More recently, along with a progress in automatic collection of information through sensors and wearable terminals, etc., a wider variety of information is being collected as lifelog.

There have also been observed attempts to use the lifelog publicized on the Internet for business applications, such as for identifying the target customer base in marketing surveys on certain products. On the other hand, it has been pointed out that there are risks of specific individuals being identified or their privacy being disclosed as a result of using the lifelog. As such, it is required to establish rules for publicizing the lifelog.
