Public Key Infrastructure
A generic term used to describe technologies or products using public key cryptosystems. Public key cryptographic techniques like RSA cryptosystem and Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem, servers and browsers incorporating the SSL protocol, Certification Authorities, and Validation Authorities(which check the validity of received electronic certificate) are all part of the PKI.
