Explanation

A device for computation that makes use of quantum mechanical phenomena such as superposition to perform operations on quantum bits or "qubits." A quantum computer with "n" qubits can be in an arbitrary superposition of up to 2n different states simultaneously, and thus able to solve certain types of problems dramatically faster than classical computers.
