Explanation

Terrestrial digital broadcasting is a digital technology (utilizing the UHF waveband) that is replacing conventional terrestrial TV broadcasting by analog technology. With digital broadcasting, degradation of pictures and sound or ghost images cannot occur in principle, so high-quality TV is provided. In addition, high-definition TV broadcasting (HDTV) by MPEG-2 compression, interactive services, and so on are realized.
