We are doing R & D on organic LED (OLED) displays, which are being called the 'ultimate display device' because they feature thinness, light weight, suitability for motion pictures, high image quality and wide viewing angle.

We are working day and night to develop groundbreaking technology for longer product life and higher efficiency.

OLED display that re-uses blue light

The OLED (organic light-emitting diode) has a circular polarizer to prevent reflection of ambient light. That polarizer increases power consumption because it absorbs light emitted by the OLED. Also, the material that emits blue light has a shorter life than the materials that emit red and green, so it is difficult to achieve both color purity and long life. To solve those problems, we developed a blue light enhancement circular polarizer (BECP), which enhances the blue light emission by placing a cholesteric liquid crystal that selectively reflects blue light and passes other colors between the polarizer and the organic EL devices.
We are also developing a highly efficient and long-lasting top-emission type OLED structure and a white OLED structure that is color-accurate and efficient.
