High-power converter and control panel

We research and develop electric and electronic systems of elevators (i.e. vertical transportation systems). Examples of latest research topics are power converters for motor drive, communication systems for elevators and elevator group control systems.

New elevator research tower

New elevator research tower (completed in 2009)

We are engaged in research on " energy-saving, comfortable and highly-reliable elevators."Energy-saving: A high-efficiency power converter can save energy for a elevator drive. We propose miniaturizing and cooling techniques of the power converter, and controlling techniques of the output power.Comfortable: Elevator group control systems and information displays provide efficient and comfortable trip to passengers in the building. In the research of elevator group control system, optimal car allocation methods for minimizing passenger-waiting time have been developed.Highly-reliable:We are also researching highly reliable control systems concerning multiple microcomputer systems with diagnosis function and highly reliable software.
