Storage, networking, and security are critical functions for the various devices which will make up a ubiquitous network society. R&D is being conducted on SoC*1 solutions which integrate such functions into devices, including (1) functional connectivity of accelerators on SoC, (2) a database accelerator enabling high-performance storage applications for appliances, (3) an IP network accelerator which enables higher speed at low cost by lightening network processing, and (4) a network streaming accelerator for IP broadcasting and DLNA*2 home networking.
