The explosive growth in business data as a result of evolution and use of the Internet is leading to increasingly complex systems for storing and managing data, and greater burden on storage administrators. SAN (Storage Area Network) and virtualization technologies are storage technologies which can provide solutions in an environment where heterogeneous storages, hosts, and networking devices are interconnected and high availability, performance, and security are required. At Hitachi, our research focuses on the development of new features for storage management software to support efficient management operations by storage administrators.
