The mission of the Systems Development Laboratory is to develop information system technologies which meet the demands of each new era. Research and development in new system concepts and architecture, as well as core technologies in software and hardware, are being pursued. We believe that a system approach which considers not only elemental technologies, but also the relationship between technology and social change and how to best integrate the individual technologies, is the most effective way of providing real-world solutions. Our fundamental management policy is to create world-class system technologies and then to speedily implement and market them. Thus, we work in close cooperation with our business divisions, sharing business models, to ensure speed in research and development.
At SDL, R&D on leading-edge information system technologies is being conducted to create customer value through information technology (IT) in a wide range of business areas such as social, industrial, life, and information infrastructures, by identifying the value that our products and projects can offer, providing advanced technologies to realize that value, and achieving innovation with our customers.
