The rapid development of computers has been accompanied by similar development in compiler technology. At Hitachi Ltd., by developing an automatic parallelizing compiler for supercomputers and making use of an advanced analysis function, we have achieved ultrahigh-speed and parallel processing of programs. This technology and know-how is being applied in embedded systems for high-performance home information appliances and in-car systems and is expected to flourish as a key technology in the "ubiquitous information society."
