5. Toward a fusion of sensor networks and the Web

μWirelessWeb Technology for Implementing Communication Software in an Ultra-compact Module

Where will the research go from here?

FujiokaAt present, development of μWirelessWeb, the software implementation technology that can implement communication functions in an ultra-compact module, is our main interest. We are also researching solutions that combine this technology with sensor networks. As the next step, we are aiming for a fusion of sensor networks and the Web. The μWirelessWeb technology can be used to easily construct a Web-based sensor network, even from a single sensor node. Web-based simultaneous control of hundreds or thousands of sensor nodes is also easy. This ability for a smooth and easy transition from small systems to large systems is a merit of Web-based sensor networks. We will continue to develop uses that take advantage of this merit and continue with solution-oriented research.
