Development Story

Linux is open source software that emerged from the Bazaar-style open development community, and is adopted by the standard in the field of the Internet. Linux has been recently making rapid inroads as a robust enterprise operating system (OS), and is even starting to be adopted as the core business system of banks and other institutions requiring mission critical systems. Based on a long history of solid achievement improving the reliability of mission critical and core business systems in the past, Systems Development Laboratory, Hitachi, Ltd. has developed a solution in cooperation with vendors and the Linux development community for enhancing the reliability of Linux as an enterprise OS. We will keep accelerating this new open source software approach further in the future.
