Explanation

A drive that utilizes a serial-attached SCSI—which is a specification for connecting storage devices such as hard-disk drives (HDD). It is often used as media for servers. As examples of other media used in servers, solid-state devices (SSDs) and SATA drives are available. An SAS drive has characteristics positioned between those of an SSD (high performance at high cost) and a SATA drive (large capacity at low cost).
