Recently, the performance of note type PCs has almost equaled that of desk-top personal computers (desk-top PCs). As a result, the market is requiring improved color capabilities, lower power consumption, higher display resolution and compactness for the liquid crystal display in step with the quick improvement in performance of note type PCs.
Hitachi has developed new technology to achieve these market requirements. Our low-voltage driving scheme displays 260 k colors using only 5 V. Our single-side driving scheme shrinks the frame space of the display.
Hitachi introduced the first small frame structure thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) in the display market, which is 26-cm (10.4-inch) diagonal size with 260 k color capability.
