Multi-Objective Elevator Supervisory-Control System with Individual Floor-Situation Control

ABSTRACT

As buildings have become larger, an intelligent elevator supervisory-control system, which can cope with various functions, has become necessary. In order to conform with such user requests, we have developed the multi-objective elevator supervisory-control system, supported by an individual floor-situation control, to satisfy the need for different services on each floor.

This system uses a genetic algorithm which simulates biological evolution. As a result, fine operation has been realized. Now, this system automatically sends a less crowded elevator to a floor, where a meeting room may exist, or sends an elevator with a short-waiting time, to floors where busy business divisions exist. In addition, reservation indicators have been mounted as standard, in order to notify which elevators are available. Furthermore, the overall service for users has been noticeably improved.
