ABSTRACT

As computer technology progresses, the mechanization of the design business has become more popular than that of the conventional design business which has been dependent upon an individual's experiences. Now, the development of product images can be shared by introducing image processing technology, which uses CG (computer graphics) and other techniques to improve the precision in the design study. With regards to elevators, the design and production environments have been arranged to conform to versatile needs flexibly, quickly, and precisely based on accumulated know-how.

In order to satisfy these needs we have successfully improved the business efficiency of the combined processes, from the design to the production, by unifying the design and manufacturing data and by using a three-dimensional drawing system. We have also introduced a special full-color painting technology in the manufacture of design products by combining the image processing technology with computer-controlled technology.
