ABSTRACT

The Haramachi Thermal Power Station of Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. has achieved the high pressure and temperature steam conditions of 24.5 MPa (250 kg/cm2g) and 600/600 degrees Celsius for the first time, which results in a highly efficient coal-fired plant. Hitachi, Ltd. and Babcock-Hitachi K. K. have supplied the 1000-MW steam turbine-generator and the 2890 t/h boiler as prime machinery equipment makers.

The special materials and structure are utilized for high temperature operating conditions of the main steam and reheat steam, and consequently high efficiency and high reliability have been realized for this power plant. Valuable energy is saved by the thorough development of an operational back-up system, which achieves the most economical applications of the engineering, from designing work to detail site work.
