ABSTRACT

The digital satellite receiver (IRD) and the D-VHS1) recorder for processing multi-channel broadcasting have been developed. The IRD offers a high-grade reception performance, an easy-to-see electronic program table, and a digital interface with other equipment. The D-VHS recorder which is compatible with the current VHS system, operates as a bit stream recorder connected to the IRD and achieves high-quality and long-time digital recording. These products enable further worldwide developments such as terrestrial cable receivers and recorders, multimedia equipment connected to PCs, and data streamers.
