The Hitachi Global Foundation Holds Event Supporting Women in Science & Engineering Project 2017

The Hitachi Global Foundation, in cooperation with Kodansha Ltd., held "Supporting Women in Science & Engineering Project 2017: Rikejo (women in science & engineering) Forging the Future," an event themed on how women's ideas drive future innovation on July 22, 2017.

Ms. Yu Asano, a researcher at Intelligent Information Research Department, Center for Technology Innovation-Systems Engineering , Hitachi, Ltd. shared some of her experiences making career choices, what triggered her to choose this job, and the robot development work she is currently engaged in in the keynote speech and panel discussions.

Participants then attended Monozukuri workshops using Sony MESH*1 e-tag sensors, after which participants attended a reception with Ms. Asano. Comments about the opportunity for informal exchange among participants included, "We can expand possibilities by discussion with more than one person," and "I came away with a vision that we will create the future."

The Hitachi Global Foundation will continue to plan and hold events to support women in science and engineering.
