Hitachi achieved place on CDP ‘A List’ for corporate leadership in Water Security

Hitachi achieved place on the highest score ‘A List’ in CDP which is a global non-profit, for corporate leadership in Water Security.

Hitachi established the target to improve water utilization efficiency by FY 2050 by 50% (compared to FY 2010 in Hitachi Group) in long-term environment targets called Hitachi Environmental Innovation 2050. We have aimed at utilizing properly and effectively water resources necessary for a sustained business, and created in FY 2019 “Water Risk Guidelines” to specify and respond the risks of water issues in the Hitachi Group.
We take pride in this achievement of CDP ‘A List’ in Water Security due to having been evaluated our efforts for water resources. We will continually make efforts to develop and spread widely our environmentally conscious products and services to help realize a sustainable society.

CDP is a global non-profit that drives companies and governments to disclose information on the measures for environmental issues including climate change, water resources protection and forest conservation base on the requests from global institutional investors and major purchase companies having great interest in environmental issues and encourage to conduct the measures, and is one of platforms to disclose information globally on environmental issues. Over 8,400 companies disclosed information on the measures for environmental issues through CDP in 2019.
