CDP Climate Change and Water Security A List
(Rated in 2025)
Hitachi, Ltd. has been selected for CDP’s 2025 A List in both climate change and water by CDP, a global non-profit organization, in recognition of its advanced initiatives and high level of transparency in disclosures on these issues.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that Hitachi has been selected for the Climate Change A List.

Hitachi, Ltd. has been selected as a SX Brand 2026 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The aim of the SX Brand project is to select and award a group of progressive companies that enhance their ability to create a source of funds for growth in a sustainable manner and increase corporate value through sustainability transformation*1.
*1 SX Brand is an initiative in which companies strive to improve long-term and sustainable corporate value by synchronizing the sustainability of society with that of itself while carrying out the necessary management and business reforms to achieve such synchronization.

Human resources awards and recognition
Kurumin Certification
Hitachi, Ltd. received Kurumin certification from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2011. This certification was granted under Japan’s Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation-Children, in recognition of Hitachi’s achievement in developing and implementing action plans supporting child care, helping employees work with the peace of mind that comes from a good work-life balance. In addition to Hitachi, Ltd., several other group companies in Japan received Kurumin certification including Hitachi High-Tech, Hitachi Systems, and Hitachi Solutions.
Eruboshi Certification
Hitachi, Ltd. is committed to creating an environment where diverse talent can thrive, in order to advance the utilization of diverse perspectives. In recognition of these initiatives, we received Eruboshi certification, which is conferred to companies that implement exceptional measures under Japan’s Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace. In addition to Hitachi, Ltd., several other group companies in Japan have received Eruboshi certification, including Hitachi High-Tech, Hitachi Systems, and Hitachi Solutions.
2025 Pride Index Gold
Hitachi, Ltd. has been recognized for its efforts to fostering an inclusive workplace that respects all forms of diversity, including LGBTQIA+ people . Hitachi, Ltd. received the Gold award, the highest award in the 2025 Pride Index, which is an index sponsored by work with Pride that evaluates initiatives related to sexual minorities.
Ranked First in Industry – Nikkei Woman Best 100
Hitachi, Ltd. has claimed top spot for the sixth consecutive year in the 2026 edition of Nikkei Woman's 100 Best Companies Where Women Actively Take Part in the electrical, machinery, and automobile-related industry category (33th out of 451 responding companies in all industries).
This survey measures and gives scores based on four indicators: 1) promotion to managerial positions, 2) promotion of women’s active engagement, 3) work-life balance and 4) workstyle diversity. Hitachi has been advancing efforts to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment where all employees can thrive. These efforts include career support such as mentoring and dialogue with senior management — which also encompass support for women — as well as the establishment of a women’s health consultation desk.

Initiatives of the ESG Disclosure Study Group
The ESG Disclosure Study Group (EDSG) was established in 2020 under Hitachi's leadership and continues to be co-led by Hitachi today. EDSG is Japan’s largest privatesector community for corporate disclosure and sustainable management, bringing together more than 130 business companies, institutional investors, audit firms, government organizations and other stakeholders. EDSG works closely with global sustainability organizations, including the IFRS Foundation, to exchange practical insights and develop recommendations that reflect international trends. The organization's activities include working groups on improving the Integrated Report, developing sustainability talent and embedding integrated thinking into management, along with sharing information on a continuous basis through seminars and webinars featuring experts.Through our participation in EDSG, we will continue to deepen dialogue and co-creation with diverse stakeholders and exercise leadership in driving sustainable management and information disclosure in Japan. In doing so, we aim to contribute to sustainable value creation across society.
