The effects of the new Coronavirus are growing more severe with each passing day. There are reports that more than 120,000 people worldwide have been infected by the virus. Aside from posing a threat to our physical health, the virus has had a dramatic effect on economic activities as well, causing confusion in the stock markets, limiting movement, and forcing sporting events to be postponed. In the midst of all that is going on, above all else, I urge you all to place top priority on your own health and that of your families, and to act accordingly.
As you have no doubt heard through the notification from the Corporate Risk Management Department, one way of doing this is to actively make use of measures such as telecommuting, working in one of our satellite offices, or staggering your work hours to avoid crowded commutes. I know that you are all very busy, given that we are approaching the end of the business year, but I would ask employees in all workplaces, and particularly upper-level managers, to cooperate in this regard.
