Appointment of Name for New Integrated Company to Run Hitachi Group's Comprehensive Air conditioning and Home Appliance Business and New Executive Officers

TOKYO, Japan, January 30, 2006 --- Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE:HIT/TSE:6501), Hitachi Air Conditioning Systems Co., Ltd. (HACS) and Hitachi Home & Life Solutions, Inc. (Hitachi H&L) today announced the appointment of name for new integrated company to run Hitachi group's comprehensive air conditioning and home appliance business, which will be formed on April 1, 2006, and also announced the appointment of new directors and auditors.
