A compressor is a machine that utilizes rotating vanes or impellers to compress a gas. Compressors are used in various engineering applications.
We have an extensive product line-up to satisfy various needs, ranging from the large centrifugal compressors for process use that form the heart of petrochemical plants, chemical steel, and natural gas plants, as well as compact compressors used in automotive applications, electronics, IT, food processing, and aerospace industries.
Based on our long experience and advance proven technology our products are serving the customer all over the globe.

Centrifugal compressors

Process centrifugal compressors serve as the heart of plants that require high reliability. Hitachi independently develops high-efficiency compressors.

Vertically split process centrifugal compressors (BCH)
Cylindrical-shaped vertically split compressors are used for hydrogen and other light gases and applications with a high pressure of about 4-35 MPa, and are capable of high-speed stable operation at rotation speeds of up to 15,000 rotations per minute.
Horizontally Split Process Centrifugal Compressors (MCH)
The MCH-type compressor, which is suitable for pressures of up to about 4-5 MPa, has a strong casing structure, also can be split horizontally for the inner bundle maintenance without disturbing the external piping.
Centrifugal compressors for gas pipelines (PCH)
We have specialized compressors suitable for pipeline stations for transporting natural gas and other raw material gases.
Overhung Centrifugal Compressors (POB)
For low-pressure applications up to about 2 MPa, we can provide single-stage compressors with only one impeller.
Centrifugal Compressors with Magnetic Bearings
The demand for oil-free rotating machinery is increasing, including centrifugal compressors for process use.
In the past, lubrication is essential for any bearings. However, installing magnetic bearings and non-contact gas seals makes oil-free centrifugal compressors possible, with no oil consumption.
Compressors for FPSO application
Due to the increasing demand for the offshore applications, Hitachi developed specialized compressors for FPSO’s. Hitachi had good experience in supplying such compressors to our customers.

Reciprocating Compressors

Super-High-Pressure Compressors
Hitachi Super-High-Pressure Compressors used in ethylene production plants have output pressure in the range of 98-343MPa (1,000-3,500 kgf/cm²), and have very high pressures and pressure fluctuations. In order to withstand such pressure variations, this compressor has many advanced and special technologies compared to general type reciprocating compressor.
High-Pressure Hydrogen Compressors
High-pressure hydrogen (100MPa) Compressors has been developed to supply hydrogen to fuel cell vehicles as energy source instead of gasoline. Advanced technologies of super-high pressure compressors have been taken into account in developing this compressor with high efficiency and high reliability.
Balanced Type Reciprocating Compressors for Process Use
Hitachi balanced reciprocating compressors are used in various fields of petrochemical industries and it serves as similar to human heart.

AIRZEUS (SDS-U-series) Screw Compressors

The AIRZEUS SDS-U-series oil-free screw compressors have the highest level of energy efficiency in the industry, along with improved ease of operation, reduced noise, and less of a burden on the environment. We reduced the annual power consumption by about 56,000 kWh (280-kW-class, our figures compared to a conventional compressor.), which reduces about 31 tons of CO2.
