Explanation

Targeted advertising is a means of advertising that delivers combined advertisements aimed at particular recipients according to certain criteria. It aims to effectively attract the interest of the recipients.
Types of targeted advertising include "content-targeting" advertisements (namely, the substance of content is analyzed and relevant advertisements are delivered according to the analysis results) and "behavior targeting" advertisements (namely, hobbies and diversions are analyzed from trends in web-browsing habits and relevant advertisements are delivered according to the analysis results). Moreover, a targeting method that utilizes location information obtained via positioning technology (such as GPS) and delivers advertisements related to the present location of the recipient is attracting a lot of attention.
