Explanation

Drive devices that use semiconductors as storage media. Unlike hard disk drives, there are no physical moving parts, so they have the following features:

  • Low power consumption
  • Fast data read/write
  • Resistant against shocks

On the other hand, SSD devices are expensive compared to hard disk drives with the same capacity. Therefore, the device for storage is often divided based on purpose: SSD for frequently used data, and hard disk drives for data used less frequently.
